Description

A delicious and savory meatloaf glazed with a sweet balsamic sauce, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, chopped onion, minced garlic, eggs, parsley, salt, pepper, oregano, and thyme. Mix until well combined.
  3. Transfer the meat mixture to a loaf pan and shape it into a loaf.
  4. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the balsamic vinegar, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  5. Pour half of the balsamic glaze over the meatloaf.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour. After 30 minutes, brush the remaining glaze over the top of the meatloaf.
  7. Once cooked, let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm.

Notes

  • For a healthier twist, substitute ground turkey for the beef and pork.
  • You can also add chopped bell peppers or carrots to the meat mixture for extra flavor and nutrition.
  • If you prefer a spicier kick, mix in some crushed red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce into the meat mixture.
