Description

A quick and easy Beef and Cabbage Stir-Fry recipe that is packed with flavor and nutrition.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 cups green cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  2. Add the sliced onion, garlic, and ginger to the skillet. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until the onion is translucent and fragrant.
  3. Stir in the sliced cabbage and cook for another 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and black pepper. Pour this mixture over the beef and cabbage, stirring to combine. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through.
  5. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add a teaspoon of red pepper flakes or a splash of sriracha to the sauce.
  • Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option, or add extra vegetables like bell peppers or carrots for more color and nutrition.
