Description
A quick and easy Beef and Cabbage Stir-Fry recipe that is packed with flavor and nutrition.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 cups green cabbage, thinly sliced
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Add the sliced onion, garlic, and ginger to the skillet. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until the onion is translucent and fragrant.
- Stir in the sliced cabbage and cook for another 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender.
- In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and black pepper. Pour this mixture over the beef and cabbage, stirring to combine. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through.
- Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add a teaspoon of red pepper flakes or a splash of sriracha to the sauce.
- Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option, or add extra vegetables like bell peppers or carrots for more color and nutrition.
