Description

Delicious and crispy beef taquitos filled with seasoned ground beef and cheese, perfect for a snack or meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 small corn tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
  • Sour cream and salsa (for serving)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Stir in the garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the spices are fragrant. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. Warm the corn tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave until pliable.
  4. Place about 2 tablespoons of the beef mixture and a sprinkle of cheddar cheese in the center of each tortilla. Roll them tightly and secure with a toothpick if necessary.
  5. In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Carefully add the taquitos, seam side down, and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  6. Remove the taquitos from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with sour cream and salsa.

Notes

  • For a healthier version, bake the taquitos at 400°F for 15-20 minutes until crispy instead of frying.
  • Add diced jalapeños or bell peppers to the beef mixture for extra flavor and crunch.
