Description
Cajun Brown Sugar Chicken Wings are a deliciously spicy and sweet dish that is perfect for any gathering or game day.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds chicken wings
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce (optional)
- Chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Place a wire rack on top of the baking sheet for better air circulation.
- In a large bowl, combine the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper. Add the chicken wings and toss to coat them evenly with the spice mixture.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, soy sauce, vegetable oil, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce (if using) until smooth.
- Pour the sauce over the seasoned wings and toss until they are well coated.
- Arrange the wings in a single layer on the wire rack. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, turning halfway through, until the wings are crispy and caramelized.
- Remove the wings from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, broil the wings for an additional 2-3 minutes after baking.
- Try adding a tablespoon of honey to the sauce for a sweeter glaze or substitute the soy sauce with coconut aminos for a gluten-free option.
