Description
A rich and creamy dessert that combines the classic flavors of tiramisu with a chocolate twist.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups strong brewed coffee, cooled
- 1/2 cup coffee liqueur (optional)
- 8 ounces mascarpone cheese, softened
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 24 ladyfinger cookies
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 ounce dark chocolate, grated (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a shallow dish, combine the cooled coffee and coffee liqueur (if using). Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract together until soft peaks form.
- Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy. Lay them in a single layer in a 9×9-inch dish.
- Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the layer of ladyfingers.
- Repeat the process with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture.
- Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.
- Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder and sprinkle with grated dark chocolate.
Notes
- For a mocha flavor, add 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder to the mascarpone mixture.
- Try using flavored coffee or different liqueurs, such as hazelnut or vanilla, to customize the taste.
