Description
A simple and delicious recipe for tender country-style beef ribs, perfect for a barbecue meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds country-style beef ribs
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300°F.
- In a large bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Rub this spice mixture all over the beef ribs.
- In a large oven-safe skillet or Dutch oven, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Sear the ribs on all sides until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Remove the ribs from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, add the barbecue sauce, beef broth, and apple cider vinegar. Stir to combine.
- Return the ribs to the skillet, making sure they are coated in the sauce. Cover the skillet with a lid or aluminum foil.
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the ribs are tender and the meat easily pulls away from the bone.
- Remove the skillet from the oven and let the ribs rest for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper to the spice rub.
- Serve the ribs with coleslaw or cornbread for a classic barbecue meal.
