Description
A delicious and crunchy Dorito Taco Salad that combines seasoned ground beef with fresh vegetables and topped with Doritos for an extra crunch.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1 cup water
- 1 head romaine lettuce, chopped
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 can (15 ounces) black beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 cup corn (fresh, frozen, or canned)
- 1 bag (9 ounces) Doritos, crushed
- 1 cup ranch dressing
- 1/2 cup salsa
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- Add the taco seasoning and water, stirring to combine. Simmer for about 5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- In a large bowl, combine the chopped romaine lettuce, cherry tomatoes, shredded cheddar cheese, black beans, and corn.
- Add the cooked taco meat to the salad mixture and toss gently to combine.
- Just before serving, add the crushed Doritos on top of the salad for crunch.
- Drizzle with ranch dressing and salsa, then toss lightly to coat the salad evenly.
- Serve immediately for the best texture. If preparing in advance, store the salad and dressing separately and combine just before serving to keep the Doritos crunchy.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider topping the salad with sliced avocado or jalapeños.
- To make it vegetarian, substitute the ground beef with a can of lentils or a meat alternative.
