Description

A creamy and crispy green bean casserole that is perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cans (14.5 ounces each) cut green beans, drained
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup French fried onions
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the drained green beans, cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until well mixed.
  3. Pour the mixture into a 1.5-quart baking dish and spread it evenly.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
  5. Remove the casserole from the oven and stir in half of the French fried onions.
  6. Top the casserole with the remaining French fried onions.
  7. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the onions are golden brown and crispy.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a cheesy twist, add 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese to the mixture before baking.
  • Substitute fresh green beans for canned ones; just blanch them in boiling water for 3-4 minutes before adding to the casserole.
