A delicious Italian Pressed Sandwich filled with layers of meats, cheese, and fresh vegetables, perfect for a hearty meal.
Ingredients

- 1 large ciabatta loaf
- 4 ounces sliced salami
- 4 ounces sliced ham
- 4 ounces sliced provolone cheese
- 4 ounces sliced roasted red peppers (jarred)
- 1 cup fresh spinach leaves
- 1/4 cup pesto sauce
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Slice the ciabatta loaf in half horizontally.
- Spread the pesto sauce evenly on both cut sides of the bread.
- Layer the salami, ham, provolone cheese, roasted red peppers, and spinach on the bottom half of the ciabatta.
- Sprinkle Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper over the layers.
- Place the top half of the ciabatta on the sandwich.
- Brush the outside of the sandwich with olive oil.
- Wrap the sandwich tightly in aluminum foil.
- Place a heavy skillet or a baking sheet on top of the wrapped sandwich to press it down.
- Heat on a skillet over medium heat for about 10-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the bread is crispy and the cheese is melted.
- Remove from heat, unwrap, and slice into individual servings.
Notes
- For a vegetarian option, substitute the meats with grilled vegetables and extra cheese.
- Add sliced olives or artichokes for an extra layer of flavor.
