Description

Delicious and festive chocolate truffles perfect for patriotic celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup crushed graham crackers
  • 1 cup red, white, and blue sprinkles
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder (optional for dusting)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it just starts to simmer. Remove from heat and add the chopped chocolate. Let it sit for 2 minutes to melt the chocolate, then stir until smooth.
  2. Stir in the vanilla extract and crushed graham crackers until well combined.
  3. Cover the mixture and refrigerate for about 1 hour, or until it is firm enough to handle.
  4. Once the mixture is firm, use a small cookie scoop or your hands to form small balls (about 1 inch in diameter).
  5. Roll each truffle in the red, white, and blue sprinkles until fully coated. If desired, you can also roll some in cocoa powder for a different flavor.
  6. Place the finished truffles on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and refrigerate for another 30 minutes to set.
  7. Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

  • For a different flavor, try using milk chocolate or white chocolate instead of semi-sweet chocolate.
  • Add a tablespoon of your favorite liqueur (like peppermint schnapps or orange liqueur) to the chocolate mixture for an adult twist.
