A refreshing Southern Chicken Salad recipe that combines tender chicken with crunchy vegetables and a creamy dressing.

- 3 cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced
- 1 cup celery, finely chopped
- 1 cup red grapes, halved
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)
- 1/4 cup green onions, sliced (optional)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked chicken, celery, and red grapes.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, Greek yogurt, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until smooth.
- Pour the dressing over the chicken mixture and stir until everything is well coated.
- If using, fold in the chopped pecans and green onions for added crunch and flavor.
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate the chicken salad for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld.
- Serve chilled on a bed of lettuce, in a sandwich, or with crackers.
Notes
- For a lighter version, substitute the mayonnaise with additional Greek yogurt.
- Add diced apples or dried cranberries for a sweet twist to the salad.
