A quick and flavorful Spicy Dumpling Soup that combines savory broth with tender dumplings and fresh vegetables.

- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup water
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sriracha (adjust to taste)
- 1 package (12 ounces) frozen dumplings (chicken or vegetable)
- 1 cup baby spinach
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté for about 5 minutes until translucent.
- Stir in the minced garlic and ginger, cooking for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Pour in the chicken broth and water, then add the soy sauce and sriracha. Bring the mixture to a boil.
- Once boiling, carefully add the frozen dumplings to the pot. Reduce the heat to a simmer and cook for 8-10 minutes, or until the dumplings are heated through.
- Add the baby spinach and cook for another 2 minutes until wilted.
- Stir in the sesame oil and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot, garnished with sliced green onions.
Notes
- For extra heat, add sliced jalapeños or more sriracha.
- Substitute the dumplings with homemade ones or use tofu for a vegetarian option.
