Ingredients

  • 2 pounds bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
  • 2 green onions, sliced (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, honey, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, and black pepper until well combined.
  3. In a large oven-safe skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken thighs skin-side down and sear for about 5-7 minutes until the skin is golden brown.
  4. Flip the chicken thighs over and pour the glaze over the top.
  5. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  6. Remove the skillet from the oven and let the chicken rest for 5 minutes.
  7. If desired, sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onions before serving.
