- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 13" x 9" casserole dish.
- In a large skillet, heat over medium-high and add ground beef. Cook for 7-8 minutes until browned. Drain excess grease, stir in Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
- Spread the cooked ground beef evenly across the bottom of the greased casserole dish.
- In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add sliced mushrooms and sauté for 5-7 minutes until tender. Transfer to a bowl to cool.
- Add flour to sautéed mushrooms, stirring well. Gradually whisk in half & half and chicken broth until thickened.
- Mix in sour cream, Frank's Red Hot Sauce, cumin, and cayenne pepper until blended. Pour this mixture over the beef in the casserole dish.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the creamy layer, add jalapeños if desired, and arrange frozen tater tots in a single layer on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes until tater tots are golden-brown and crispy.
