Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the chopped bacon, sausage, or ham until browned and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Grease a 9 x 13-inch baking dish generously with melted butter.
  4. Evenly distribute the shredded potatoes at the bottom of your prepared baking dish.
  5. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs and whole milk. Stir in the green onions, peppers, cooked meat, salt, and pepper.
  6. Pour the egg mixture over the layered hash browns.
  7. Sprinkle shredded cheese on top of the casserole.
