  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ cup ketchup plus extra for topping
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, milk, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined; avoid overmixing.
  3. Transfer the meat mixture into a loaf pan, shaping it into a loaf.
  4. Spread the ketchup evenly over the top and sprinkle the brown sugar on top of the ketchup for added sweetness.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.
  6. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
