  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Gradually blend in the flour mixture until just combined.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips and nuts if using.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
