Preheat your oven to 300°F.
In a large bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Rub this spice mixture all over the beef ribs.
In a large oven-safe skillet or Dutch oven, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Sear the ribs on all sides until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.
Remove the ribs from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, add the barbecue sauce, beef broth, and apple cider vinegar. Stir to combine.
Return the ribs to the skillet, making sure they are coated in the sauce. Cover the skillet with a lid or aluminum foil.
Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the ribs are tender and the meat easily pulls away from the bone.
Remove the skillet from the oven and let the ribs rest for 10 minutes before serving.
