Ingredients
  

Casserole Base
  • 8 ounces egg noodles Cook slightly underdone
  • 2 cups leftover ham Any type except thin deli slices
  • 1 can cream of soup Choose your favorite variation
  • 1 cup sour cream Can swap with Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup milk Whole milk is ideal
Cheesy Layer
  • 2 cups cheese 1.5 cups mixed in, 0.5 cups reserved for topping
Topping
  • 2 tablespoons butter For breadcrumb richness
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs Panko for extra crispiness
Optional Add-ins
  • 1 cup frozen peas Substitute with your preferred frozen vegetable
  • seasonings (Salt, Pepper, etc.) Adjust based on preference

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and spray a baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Cook the egg noodles in boiling salted water for 1-2 minutes less than package instructions, then drain.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together cream of soup, sour cream, and milk until smooth; season to taste.
  4. Fold in diced ham and 1.5 cups of cheese, then add cooked noodles and combine gently.
  5. Pour mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  6. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove foil, sprinkle remaining cheese on top, and bake uncovered for another 5 minutes.
  8. Cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
