  • 4 slices Sourdough Bread day-old recommended
  • 6 ounces Dill Havarti Cheese or your favorite melty cheese
  • 1/2 cup Dill Pickles pat dry for best results
  • 2 tablespoons Butter softened
  • Optional Dill Pickle Chips for extra crunch

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Slice the sourdough bread into 1-inch thick slices.
  2. Chop the dill pickles into small chunks.
  3. Slice the dill Havarti cheese into 1/4-inch slabs.
  4. Layer half of the cheese on one slice of bread, add pickles, then top with remaining cheese and second slice of bread.
  5. Butter the outside of both slices generously.
  6. Cook in a skillet over medium-low heat for 4-5 minutes, pressing down gently.
  7. Flip and cook the second side for an additional 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Open the sandwich, add dill pickle chips, close gently, and let sit before cutting.
  9. Cut the sandwich diagonally and serve warm, ideally with tomato soup.
