Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken wings
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper optional for heat
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Place a wire rack on top of the baking sheet for better air circulation.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, chili powder, salt, black pepper, cayenne pepper (if using), oregano, and thyme. Mix well to form a dry rub.
  3. Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels to ensure they crisp up nicely. Add the wings to the bowl with the dry rub and toss until they are evenly coated.
  4. Arrange the wings in a single layer on the wire rack, making sure they are not touching each other.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, flipping the wings halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove the wings from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, you can broil the wings for an additional 2-3 minutes after baking.
  • If you prefer a different flavor, try substituting the smoked paprika with regular paprika or adding a teaspoon of your favorite hot sauce to the dry rub for a spicy kick.
