  • 1 sheet Puff Pastry thawed
For the Filling
  • 6 pieces Fresh Figs ripe
  • 1/4 cup Honey or agave syrup for vegan option
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice fresh
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract or essence
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon optional
For the Finish
  • 1 large Egg for egg wash
  • 1 tablespoon Powdered Sugar for dusting, optional

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. On a lightly floured surface, unfold and roll out the thawed puff pastry into a tart pan.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine fresh figs, honey, lemon juice, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. Toss to coat.
  4. Evenly pour the fig mixture into the puff pastry shell.
  5. Refrigerate the tart for about 10 minutes.
  6. Beat an egg to create an egg wash and brush the edges of the pastry.
  7. Bake the tart for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Let the tart cool for 15-20 minutes in the pan before transferring to a wire rack.
  9. Serve warm or at room temperature, optionally dusting with powdered sugar.
