Preparation Steps
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease three round cake pans or line them with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, and vanilla extract. Gradually combine this wet mixture into the dry ingredients.
- Divide the batter into three bowls. Mix melted chocolate into one for chocolate, pureed strawberries in another for fruity, and leave the third plain for vanilla.
- Pour each flavored batter into the prepared cake pans and bake for 25-30 minutes. Cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
- Once cooled, start assembling by placing the chocolate layer on a plate, spreading frosting, then stacking the vanilla and strawberry layers, frosting them in between.
- Cover the entire cake with the remaining frosting and smooth it out.
