Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound ground pork
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, garlic, egg, salt, black pepper, oregano, and red pepper flakes. Mix until just combined; do not overmix.
  3. Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter.
  4. Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Drizzle with olive oil.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until cooked through and browned.
  6. While the meatballs are baking, heat the marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium heat.
  7. Once the meatballs are done, add them to the sauce and simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
  8. Serve the meatballs with spaghetti, on a sub roll, or on their own with extra sauce.
