Step-by-Step Instructions for Hearty Breakfast Pizza
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out the pizza dough to a 14" circle or a 12" x 16" rectangle on a floured surface and transfer to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion and peppers, sauté for 5–7 minutes until tender.
  3. Add the breakfast sausage to the skillet, breaking it up and cooking for 6–8 minutes until browned. Drain excess fat.
  4. In the same skillet, reduce heat to low and melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Stir in 2 tablespoons of flour and cook for 4 minutes. Gradually whisk in milk until thickened, then stir in the eggs and cook gently until set.
  5. Spread the creamy egg mixture over the pizza dough, then top with the sausage and vegetable mixture.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheese over the top.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 15–18 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
  8. Allow to cool for a few minutes before slicing into wedges.
