Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and instant yeast. Allow this mixture to sit for about 5 minutes, until foamy.
  2. Sift in the all-purpose flour and salt, then mix until a sticky dough forms. Knead the dough for about 5-6 minutes with a stand mixer or by hand for 8-10 minutes until smooth.
  3. Coat the kneaded dough with olive oil, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm spot for 1 to 1.5 hours, until doubled in size.
  4. In a small saucepan over low heat, combine olive oil and minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, then let cool.
  5. Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan with olive oil. Transfer the dough to the pan, pressing it out to fill the corners. Let it rest for 10 minutes if it resists stretching.
  6. Cover the pan and allow the dough to rise for another 30-45 minutes until puffy.
  7. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Dimple the dough, brush with garlic oil, sprinkle with Parmesan, herbs, and sea salt. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Cool in the pan for 5-10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Slice and serve warm.
