Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 1 medium green bell pepper diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup provolone cheese shredded
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Fresh parsley chopped (for garnish)

Method

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add the diced onion, bell pepper, and mushrooms to the skillet. Sauté for 5-6 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
  3. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
  4. Add Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, salt, and black pepper to the mixture. Stir well to combine and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the shredded provolone cheese until melted and well incorporated.
  6. Toast the hamburger buns lightly on a separate skillet or under the broiler for a minute if desired.
  7. Spoon the cheesesteak mixture onto the toasted buns and garnish with fresh parsley.
