Step-by-Step Instructions
- Begin by pouring 1 cup of water into a small pot and place it over medium-high heat. Bring to a vigorous boil.
- Once the water is boiling, add the peel of half an orange and the cinnamon stick. Let simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Add your black tea bag (or 1 tsp of loose leaf black tea) to the pot and let it steep for 3-5 minutes.
- Using a fine mesh strainer, carefully pour the tea mixture into your favorite cup, discarding the orange peel and cinnamon stick.
- While the tea is still hot, stir in 1 tsp of brown sugar and 1 tsp of vanilla extract until dissolved.
- Pour in 1 cup of milk (or your preferred milk alternative) and gently heat for another 2-3 minutes on low.
- If desired, strain the tea again to remove any unsettled particles, then garnish with an orange peel twist or orange slice.
