Ingredients
  

For the Beef Mixture
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil or sesame oil
  • 1 pound ground beef can substitute with turkey or chicken
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce low-sodium recommended
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger fresh is best
  • 0.5 teaspoon white pepper powder black pepper can substitute
For the Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon corn flour or corn starch
  • 0.5 cup water for slurry
  • 1 tablespoon Chinese dark vinegar balsamic can work in a hurry
  • 1 tablespoon Chinese chili oil optional
For the Noodles
  • 5 ounces vermicelli rice noodles or angel hair pasta can be used
For Garnish
  • 2 tablespoons spring onion can substitute chives or scallions

Method
 

Cooking Steps
  1. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add 1 pound of ground beef and brown for about 5 minutes.
  2. Stir in 2 tablespoons of soy sauce and 1 tablespoon of grated ginger to the beef. Sauté for 10-15 seconds.
  3. Pour in 1 cup of water and sprinkle 0.5 teaspoon of white pepper powder. Stir and cover, then simmer for about 10 minutes.
  4. Cook 5 ounces of vermicelli in salted boiling water for 3-4 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  5. Mix 1 tablespoon of corn flour with 0.5 cup of water to make a slurry. Stir into the beef sauce and simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Add the cooked vermicelli to the beef mixture, toss gently to combine, and garnish with spring onion. Serve hot.
