Step-by-Step Instructions
- Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add 4 minced garlic cloves and 1 finely chopped onion. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until the onion is translucent.
- Add 28 ounces of crushed tomatoes and 2 tablespoons of tomato paste, stir and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
- Stir in 1 teaspoon of dried oregano, 1 teaspoon of sugar, and salt and pepper to taste, simmer for another 5 minutes.
- Just before serving, stir in 1/4 cup of chopped fresh basil and let wilt for a minute before serving.
- Drizzle olive oil on top, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes before serving.
