  • ½ teaspoon Ground Cloves fresh
  • ½ teaspoon Allspice fresh
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
For the Spiced Sugar Coating
  • ¼ cup Spiced Sugar Mixture combination of white sugar, ground cinnamon, and ginger

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together all-purpose flour, baking soda, ground ginger, cinnamon, ground cloves, allspice, and salt.
  3. In a stand mixer, beat softened butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add egg, molasses, and vanilla extract to the butter and sugar mixture and mix until combined.
  5. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until no dry flour remains.
  6. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
  7. Prepare the spiced sugar coating by combining white sugar with ground cinnamon and ginger.
  8. Scoop and roll dough portions into balls and coat them in the spiced sugar mixture.
  9. Place coated dough balls on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 9-12 minutes.
  10. Let the cookies cool on the sheet for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
