Ingredients
  

For the Steak Marinade
  • 1 lb Flank Steak Main protein source
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil Can use canola oil as a substitute
  • 1 tbsp Sesame Oil Adds nutty flavor; omit if desired
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce Use gluten-free for gluten-free option
  • 2 tbsp Brown Sugar Honey or maple syrup can be used as an alternative
  • 2 cloves Garlic Freshly minced
  • 1 tsp Ginger Grated
  • 1 pinch Black Pepper Adjust to taste
For the Rice Bowl
  • 2 cups Cooked Jasmine Rice Any long-grain rice works as substitute
  • 2 scallions Green Onions Chives can be used instead
  • 1 cup Shredded Carrots Radishes add a nice bite too
  • 1 cup Cucumber Bell peppers can work as an alternative
For the Spicy Cream Sauce
  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise Greek yogurt can lighten it up
  • 2 tbsp Sriracha Sauce Adjust according to spice preference
  • 1 tbsp Lime Juice Lemon juice can also be used
  • 1 tbsp Honey Maple syrup is a substitute
  • 1 pinch Salt Be mindful due to soy sauce's saltiness

Method
 

Marinade and Cooking
  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together vegetable oil, sesame oil, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, and black pepper. Add flank steak, coat fully, and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Combine mayonnaise, sriracha sauce, lime juice, honey, and salt in a small bowl for the spicy cream sauce. Mix until smooth and refrigerate.
  3. Heat a grill pan over medium-high heat, add marinated steak, and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare. Let it rest.
  4. After resting, slice the steak thinly against the grain.
  5. Scoop cooked jasmine rice into bowls, arrange sliced steak on top, and add chopped green onions, shredded carrots, and cucumber.
  6. Drizzle spicy cream sauce over each bowl and serve immediately.

Notes
